Acceptance, care & respect

Our focus is on developing acceptance, care, respect of self and others through building positive connections with each other.

We value relationships between children, adults, and community. We strive to learn children’s clues and unique languages in order to build positive reciprocal relationships with them.

Young children are viewed as "capable and full of potential; as persons with complex identities, grounded in their individual strengths and capacities" (BC's Early Learning Framework) who actively participate in our common world.

Curiosity & play

Children are natural learners, born with curiosity about their world. Each child is unique and learns differently through daily experiences with materials, environment, and socializing with adults and peers.

Play is an important part of children’s living and learning setting. Our role is to create meaningful opportunities for children’s play in a safe and nurturing environment.

Well-being

We focus on supporting children’s sense of well-being and belonging, problem solving, and social responsibilities, as well as their physical, cognitive, emotional, and language development through daily experiences in a well-rounded setting.

By giving children opportunities to express themselves and responding to their inquiries, we can build positive relationships and help them develop holistically in all areas, including self-esteem, interests, and relationships.
